PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Dear School Community,

Parental involvement is vital in education. Our school ran a Mothers’ Club for some years in the past and were actively involved in some projects. At the beginning of this year we wanted to initiate a similar program involving a wider community. Therefore, we sent out a letter to everyone and asked for interest in the Parents and Friends Association in Term 1, and last Thursday we held our first meeting. We discussed activities and programs we can offer for the rest of the year. We are going to hold our next meeting in the second week of June.

I would like to take this opportunity to share recent and upcoming events with you.

Parent Teacher Interviews: We held parent teacher interviews in the second week of this term. I believe these interviews strengthen communication between parents and our school and have positive influences on students’ learning. If you missed your appointment, you can always call the school and arrange for another mutually convenient time to meet.

Saturday Soccer Matches: We have had a strong start with four teams. Soccer training is held at school during lunch times. I request all the players to come to training and matches on time.

NAPLAN Tests: The Naplan Tests will be conducted online this year at our school. The first online session will be held in our ICT Lab on Tuesday, May 14th. I believe that our students will do their best. Please make sure that they do not miss the exams.

Iftar Dinner: Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. Muslims across the globe celebrate this with much devotion and sincerity. During this holy month, Muslims fast and reflect spiritually. Ramadan is the time for spiritual reflection. As a tradition we are inviting our parents and community members to come together and celebrate the holy month. Invitation letters were already distributed to the students. Please make sure that you make your booking in advance. The Iftar Dinner will be at G.V. Hotel starting at 5 pm on Friday, May 24th. We are looking forward to seeing you all there.
